2)  Legislative Advocacy - NAHU's legislative efforts strive to educate and inform elected leaders at the federal and state level.  We've learned that most legislators simply do not understand the health care system and the agent's role in the system.  Through our network of Key Contacts we cultivate relationships that put us in position to clarify issues before bills are written or votes taken.  We strengten these relationships through activity by the Health Underiters Political Action Committee (HUPAC) on a national basis and Health Agents Political Action Committee (HAPAC) on a state wide basis.  Our State association, Louisiana Association of Health Underwriters has even hired a full time lobbist to watch and act in our interest here in Louisiana.  We also have a grassroutes mobilizer called Operation Shout.  When ever an urgent legislative matter comes up on a state or federal basis our members are called to action to notify our senators and congressmen of our concern via E-mail.  Through a few strokes on the keyboard our legislators receive a prepared e-mail outlining our concerns.  The whole process takes less than 5 minutes of our time.  Join HUPAC Click: https://www.hupac.org/  

3)  Health insurance Underwriter Magazine - NAHU's monthly magazine will provide you with tips on selling information on NAHU's activities on the national, regional, and local level, and updates on website content and other services that NAHU provides.  Receiving HIU aMagazine monthly is another great investment for your business.

4)  Education and Networking - NAHU and our state and local chapters provide continuing education opportunities to kep you abreast of the trends, new products , and policy changes in the industry.  By being a member of AAHU you are guaranteed 4 hours of continuing education if you attend half of our meeting.  We also provide one CE hour at every one of our general membership meetings.  That would give you 12 additional CE hours for you renewal or a total of 16 when added to the 4 hours for being a member.  We also sponsor seminars and additonal classes that will help you fulfill all your Ce requirements.  Our general membership meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every odd month.  These meetings will also give you time to network with your collegues and make new acquaintancs.  There is also the opportunity to demonstrate that you are top in your field through ualifying for the Leading Producers Round Table (LPRT).
